Many people in Denmark have private health insurance – either through their employer or individually. In most cases, this insurance allows you to choose your own psychologist, even if the psychologist is not part of the public healthcare system. This is often referred to as a “find your own psychologist” arrangement.

I have experience working with various insurance providers and can send invoices directly to the insurance company via email or EAN number, if accepted by your provider.

 

Please note: It is your responsibility to check the specific procedures and conditions with your insurance company before starting therapy. Some require pre-approval or a referral from a doctor.

Pay yourself and get reimbursed

Some insurance companies prefer or require that you pay the invoice yourself and then request reimbursement. In these cases, I will provide you with a proper invoice for submission. However, please be aware that you remain personally responsible for ensuring that the invoice is paid on time, regardless of any expected refund.

Support through your employer or union

Some employers or professional unions offer coverage for therapy sessions, especially in cases of stress, burnout, grief, or crisis. If you are unsure, it's worth asking your HR department or union representative whether you have access to such support – especially if they allow you to choose your own licensed psychologist.​
